Coca-Cola is returning to space in a fresh and unique method.
The famous soft drink, that was one of the first carbonated drinks to be taste-tested by astronauts on orbit, is currently attempting to bring the flavor of space to Earth in a one-of-a-kind limited-edition.
“Coca-Cola Starlight,”” which was revealed the following the 17th of February (Feb. 17), “combines great Coca-Cola taste with a touch of the unusual, with an emerald-red shade,” the company said in a press release. “Its flavor is a little more complex, with notes that remind you of stargazing around an open flame, and a refreshing sensation that brings to mind the sensation of a journey into cold space.”
It will hit shelves throughout all of the United States beginning on Monday (Feb. 21) With a handful of nations to follow in next few weeks, Coca-Cola Starlight highlights the brand’s space-related history.
“Thirty-five decades ago,” Coca-Cola joined forces with NASA to become the very first drinks that traveled into space. The same enthusiasm for space continues to be present in the present,” said Oana Vlad the senior director of global branding strategy for The Coca-Cola Company. “With Coca-Cola Starlight, we were looking to celebrate the amazing capacity of space exploration that inspires generations to explore new worlds with endless possibilities.”
“We decided to bring this concept to life by taking a small sip of wine, which captured some of the fascination and essence of the things we like about space,” said Vlad.
Alongside its colour and taste, it is also inspired by space carbonated soda. Coca-Cola Starlight is packaged with an attractive design that features the multi-dimensional, glowing star field. The “out-of-this-world” AR (AR) “Concert with the Coca-Cola” experience is accessible by scanning a bottle of Starlight with pop star Ava Max.
“Coca-Cola Starlight will take the audience on a voyage similar to how music can take listeners on a journey with every track,” Max said. “It’s an exciting experience to collaborate with Coca-Cola in this venture.”
“We were looking to create an experience that was unique by using the use of technology.” Max said.
In a virtual space surrounded by red liquid and lighting with gradients, Max performs “Kings & Queens,”” “Sweet but Psycho” and “EveryTime I Cry” as part of an AR-holographic private show making use of the container as an “anti-gravity transparent space station.”
The debut of Coca-Cola Starlight will also be celebrated by collaborations with designers, such as streetwear label Staple and by the introduction of new social filters on Instagram.
Coca-Cola Starlight is the first product to be launched under the brand’s new Coca-Cola Creations platform.
“Coca-Cola Creations” aims to delight and delight global fans with unexpected and magical experiences, tastes, and collaborations. This is something that we know our customers are used to,” declared Vlad.
Coca-Cola Starlight will be available in 20-ounce bottles as individual bottles and 10-packs 7.5-ounce mini cans in both “Original taste” or “Zero Sugar” options starting Monday in all stores all over in the United States. In the coming months, Coca-Cola plans to introduce other special edition Coca-Cola Creations.
“Coca-Cola Starlight was invented with the idea that in the world of endless possibilities in the universe, another type of Coca-Cola and a different method of connecting could be in existence,” the company said.
